Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO), a non-profit community development organisation based in Benin City, is seeking a skilled and experienced Resource Mobilization/Proposal Development Specialist to strengthen our funding pipeline.

We are looking for a dynamic professional to lead the development of compelling funding proposals and contribute to mobilizing resources that support our mission-driven programmes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop effective funding strategies and monitor upcoming grant opportunities, ensuring adequate preparation time for large-scale, collaborative proposals.
2. Lead the creation of proposal development strategies, including timelines, team coordination, and preparatory meetings.
3. Design fundable proposal concepts with strong work plans, budgets, and results frameworks that meet high-quality standards and increase success rates for grant awards.
4. Coordinate regular proposal review sessions to ensure alignment with donor requirements and expectations.
5. Establish formal agreements with partners/resource organisations and maintain comprehensive archives of all proposal materials.
6. Support new business development and pre-positioning efforts in collaboration with the Programme and Business Development team.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Social Sciences, International Development, or a related discipline
• 1–3 years of proven experience in proposal writing and resource mobilization
• Strong technical writing, editing, formatting, research, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and ability to apply branding standards to proposal layouts
• Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Adobe, Dropbox, and other collaboration tools
• Familiarity with programme design methodologies such as logic models, results frameworks, and theories of change.
• Excellent organisational, time management, and analytical skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and work remotely when required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• BSc/HND in any field with minimum of second class lower. Masters’ degree will be an advantage
• Relevant certifications in customer relations management will be an added advantage
• Minimum of 4-8 years’ experience in a clients/customer interface and relationship management in a similar industry
• High-level understanding of customer behaviour, satisfaction, and problem resolution.

We are looking for a Credit Officer to facilitate lending for our clients by assessing creditworthiness and processing relevant paperwork. Credit Officer Responsibilities include preparing loan applications, evaluating clients’ financial information and calculating risk ratios. To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of lending procedures and customer service experience. Ultimately, you will help our clients acquire loans in a timely manner and ensuring that the loan is being repaid as at when due while ensuring we comply with the law.

2. Assess clients’ financial status
3. Evaluate creditworthiness and risks
4. Contact clients to gather financial data and documentation
5. Analyze risks and approve or reject loan requests
6. Calculate financial ratios (e.g. credit scores and interest rates)
7. Set up payment plans
8. Maintain updated records of loan applications
9. Follow up with clients about loan renewals
10. Monitor progress of existing loans.
